Cross Check for a Good UPS:
- Volt-Meter Test: Use a Volt-Meter with the UPS on Backup Power Supply, with and without load - a good UPS will provide stable 220-240V in both cases. More than 240V and less than 220V are harmful for your electrical appliances.
- Mobile Charger Test: Charging on a UPS's backup power supply should not heat up your charger. Heating up means the UPS has 'power noise' which is harmful for the appliances, and may cause them to heat up and burn, or otherwise shorten their life-span.
DISCLAIMER: Handle electrical appliances with care. The Mobile Charger Test may result in a burnt adapter if left for long on an 'unclean' UPS Backup. Take the charger off instantly should it begin heating-up.
